Arquea Colectivo Workshop. LoMon23

Workshop for the collective creation of a story.

To work on the narrative framework, we propose a workshop with the inhabitants of the valley to collectively weave stories from the materials collected in nature, objects or elements brought by the participants.

The workshop takes place over two days:

Wednesday 19 July at 7 p.m.: Collective creation of the myth. Together with the participants, we will define elements, scenarios and agents from which to create fictions that will converge in the narrative of the piece.

Friday 21 July at 19:00 h: Making micro-landscapes in Petri dishes, construction of contact microphones and listening session in nature. We will invite participants to bring elements collected in the reference environments of the fictions raised during the first part of the workshop, to create “micro worlds” in Petri dishes. Issues related to this type of organisms, invisible to the naked eye, which cohabit our spaces, will be addressed. We will also build contact microphones so that participants can listen to the micro-sounds in their environment.

WHO IS IT AIMED AT: We are interested in working with different generations in order to develop narratives that challenge both the past and the present, as well as the future of the valley. To this end, the workshop is aimed at people from the age of 6 and upwards, with a quota of places for each age group.

Maximum number of places: 15 (5 from 6 to 13 years old, 5 from 14 to 50 years old, 5 over 50 years old). Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult (who will be counted as a workshop participant).

We ask participants to bring an object and/or story to share during the first session of the workshop.

Free activity in Lo Pallar d’Agustín (Echo).

Free registration at the Echo Tourist Office (974 375505).

Concert Sara Águeda and Cristina Bayón. Festival Camino de Santiago

Concert Sara Águeda and Cristina Bayón. Festival Camino de Santiago

Thursday 17 August at 21:00 h in the church of San Martín de Echo.

This concert pays tribute to Manuela de Escamilla (1648-1721), a great singer, actress, player of instruments and author of comedies through beautiful tones of the divine and human, echoing those performed by Manuela herself in autos, theatres and corralas, with which she metamorphosed into the most representative female roles of the time, such as the impudent Menguilla or the naïve Marizápalos.

Concert Ministriles de Marsías. Festival Camino de Santiago

Concert Ministriles de Marsías. Festival Camino de Santiago

Wednesday 16 August at 21:00 h in the church of San Pedro de Siresa.

One characteristic of the minstrel ensemble in Spain was its long survival. While these instruments disappeared from the European musical avant-garde in the first half of the 17th century, they were preserved in our chapels until well into the 19th century, which means that the minstrels only disappeared from the chapels with their disappearance, thanks to the disentailment of Mendizábal. Thus the minstrels, clerical instruments of the ancien régime (such as the shawm and the bajon) coexisted for a long time alongside their modern equivalents, typical of the bourgeoisie (the oboe and the bassoon, respectively). For this reason, the programme we present here offers several pieces from the 18th century or pieces that could have been composed in the 18th century.

The programme brings together a few authors in a selection that reflects the diverse sources of inspiration of the minstrels. On the one hand, vocal music, from which we have chosen both religious versions (“Regina Caeli”, by the Basque composer Juan García de Salazar, recorded by “Ministriles de Marsias” for the Naxos label together with the Capilla Peñaflorida) and secular versions (“vecchie letrose”), as the use of instrumental versions of secular music for religious purposes is widely documented. On the other hand, instrumental music for keyboard (Cabezón, Correa y Soto who, according to D. Pedro Calahorra, between 1526 and 1528 was a player in the chapel of the archbishop of Zaragoza, Juan II of Aragón) because Hernando de Cabezón himself, the editor of his father’s works, tells us in 1578 that “curious minstrels will also be able to take advantage of the book”. And finally, a selection of dance music. The latter may be the most shocking for the modern spectator, the custom of dancing in church on special occasions, which is documented in musical sources at least since the “Llibre Vermell” of Monserrat (14th century) and has survived to the present day with the “seises” children of Seville, during Corpus Christi.

Summer biathlon

Summer biathlon activity project in the Jacetania region. Ski Center Magda Genuin.
This project was born out of the intention to bring biathlon closer to the inhabitants of the region, an enhancement of a sport that in recent years has become very popular throughout Europe due to the combination of the physical and technical strength that cross-country skiing requires with the precision and temperance of carbine shooting.

Ski Center Magda Genuin, together with the collaboration of the Aragonese Federation of Winter Sports (F.A.D.I.), has developed a programme that allows the inhabitants of the region to get to know and learn this sport in their own place of residence or holidays or, in the case of very small villages, in a nearby village.

What does the activity we are going to carry out consist of?
The activity consists of a 2-hour session (from 10:00 to 12:00 h.) in which the first part will consist of learning how to shoot with a laser carbine by learning the shooting positions both lying down and standing up to develop shooting skills on a target. In the second part, a game will be played combining running, inline skating or cycling with shooting with a carbine in order to experience the difficulty of maintaining shooting accuracy after physical activity and the strategies and techniques to maintain this accuracy when fatigued.

In Hecho the session will take place on Saturday 29th July from 10:00 to 12:00 h.
